(2025) “Heavy Are The Heads” is the 3rd drawing in my Schadenfreude Series. Measuring 20” x 20”, it was hand-drawn using a mix of color pencil, ink, and marker.
Taken from the idiom ‘Heavy is the head that wears the crown’—that great responsibility carries great burden—this artwork speaks in two ways: First, we march like suffragettes against the assassination of U.S. democracy, our hearts and heads heavy with rage and sorrow. Second, we remember that many king snakes are working together to drive fascism’s rise in America, and Blind Justice has bagged all of their severed heads here.
