Dybbuk Box Cafe
(2023) The 7th drawing in my Engine Room Series, “Dybbuk Box Cafe” was drawn with marker, color pencil, ink, and acrylic on a 20" x 20" hot press illustration board. In Jewish folklore, a dybbuk is a malicious spirit believed to be the soul of a dead person. An allegedly haunted wine cabinet, the Dybbuk Box arose in the 2000s as a work of paranormal fiction. I expanded the wine cabinet concept into a wine bar cafe, a cozy little place with curious decor located in the darker recesses of my imagination.
